Bent but not broken

Today is my last day with this crooked spine of mine........Tomorrow I will have 14 vertebrae fused together to stop the progression of my curves. My surgeon says I will have a new shape. I imagine I may gain an inch or so of height again, that my hips and shoulders will be in better alignment. I pray that I have less pain and can get back to enjoying being able to do things without hurting all the time. 

I'm a bit scared of the pain and the unknown of how things will be after surgery but I am ready. Mildly terrified but ready.
